Aussie Take Third Test of Trans-Tasman Masters
9 Sep 2013Despite keeping up the better performances in this third test the Kiwis ultimately went down 7-5 to finish off the test series 0-3.
Having played in the Australian Masters between the second and third test the kiwis would have hoped to capitalise on their impressive form to seal a consolation victory in the final test.
With impressive wins in their individual draws, Becky Clarke, Mark Waldin and Rod Bannister extended their winning streak with Becky and Mark going undefeated throughout the trip.
Mark Millar stepped up his performance in the final match to grab a great win over Dale Robbins in 4 sets; while Wayne Seebeck had to dig deep to win in five against the well-known experience of Brian Cook.
Despite losing the test series the kiwis will be impressed with their performances in Australia with five winners, three runners up and two third place finishes in the individual masters event. The masters players will be looking ahead to 2015 for the next Trans-Tasman series and will be hoping for improved success next time around.
