New Zealand kicks off teams event with dominant win

A dominant display by New Zealand in the opening round of pool play in the teams event at the WSF World Women’s Team Squash Championships in Poland.

The eighth seeded Kiwis have crushed the host nation 3-0, with all three matches won in straight games.

Hayley Hughes set the tone for the tie, taking just 10 minutes to defeat Polish number three Julia Chuzicka 11-1, 11-2, 11-0.  Kiwi number one Ellie Epke then made short work of Natalia Ryfa, winning 11-5, 11-2, 11-6, before Rebecca Barnett completed the rout with an 11-0, 11-3, 11-1 victory over Klaudia Borek in just 11 minutes.

New Zealand’s next match is against top seeds Egypt at 9pm on Tuesday (NZT).  The title favourites kicked off their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over ninth seeded Australia.  Tonight's tie will be streamed live at the Championship website, tune in from 9pm.
