Kiwis set for semifinal showdowns in Melbourne

An all Kiwi semifinal in both the men's and women's draws at the Victorian Open in Melbourne

Amanda Landers-Murphy and Kylie Lindsay are set to clash in all Kiwi semifinal at the Victorian Squash Open in Melbourne.

Fifth seeded Landers-Murphy is through to the last four after knocking Australian third seed Melody Francis out of the running, bouncing back from a game down to win their quarterfinal showdown 10-12, 11-5, 11-7, 11-4.

Fourth seeded Lindsay's quarterfinal victory was more straightforward. The world number 46 downed Hong Kong's Tong Tsz-Wing in straight games, winning 12-10, 11-4, 11-2.

The two Kiwis have met twice on tour, both in 2011 with Landers-Murphy winning 3-1 on both occasions.

Meanwhile, Megan Craig has missed out on a spot in the semis.  After beating the top seed in the second round, the 19-year-old has come unstuck against Hong Kong's Song Sun-Mi, going down 11-6, 11-7, 11-3.

There is also an all-Kiwi showdown in the men's semifinals.  Second seed Campbell Grayson is through to the last four after winning an epic encounter against fifth seeded Aussie Rex Hedrick.  The two players went toe to toe for just short of two hours, before Grayson finally triumphed 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 8-11, 11-6.

Grayson will play fellow Kiwi Kashif Shuja in the last four.  Sixth seeded Shuja earned his place in the semis with an epic battle of his own, upsetting third seeded Australian Matthew Karwalsi 6-11, 11-6, 4-11, 11-7, 11-9.
