Coll beaten in marathon match in Sweden

New Zealand third seed and world No.13 Paul Coll has been beaten in the semifinals of the US$70,000 USC Swedish Open in a marathon battle against the top seed.

Coll, 25 from Greymouth lost to the top seed and current world No3 Ali Farag from Egypt in four games, however the match lasted 66 minutes.

Farag won 11-5 11-5 11-13 12-10 in what was an exciting match featuring long rallies including plenty of athletic skills from Coll as well.

The next tournament for Coll is the US$250,000 Windy City Open in two weeks. The same tournament also features fellow Kiwi Joelle King in the women's US$250,000 draw.
