King Out Of Saudi Arabia Tournament

Kiwi world No.9, Joelle King has been beaten in the quarter-finals of the US$165,000 Saudi PSA Women’s Squash Masters tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this morning.

 

King was defeated by Egyptian fourth seed Nouran Gohar 11-8, 11-6, 11-8 in 35 minutes.

 

In the first set King hit seven winning shots compared to her opponents five, but she also made five errors, four more than Gohar.

 

Surprisingly in the second set King was penalised an unusually high four strokes while the third set had similar winners and errors for both players.

 

King now travels to the United States for the JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 18-25 January which has matches played in a glass court in Grand Central Station in New York. Fellow Kiwi Paul Coll will play the men’s event in New York.
