Squash New Zealand Professional Events

PSA has recently announced changes to their tour structure in the 2018/19 season. The main changes relate to naming of the various levels and the prizemoney related to these levels, as well as the draw structures and the number of wildcards (PSA and Non-PSA members) that can be included. Full details on the changes can be found here:

In line with the High Performance Strategy, Squash New Zealand seeks to host the following series of PSA events to support our emerging players:

  • 2 Regional Tour 5 events for Men
  • 3 Regional Tour 10 events for Men
  • 3 Regional Tour 5 events for Women

It is envisioned that each group of events are held in back to back weekends, however where this is not possible the gap between events will be minimized. The proposed weekends for these events are as follow:

  • 27-29 April
  • 4-6 May
  • 11-13 May
  • 8-10 June
  • 22-24 June
  • 29 June – 1 July
  • 6-8 July

Squash New Zealand seeks to gain a long term commitment from hosts and wishes to grow the number and size of professional events hosted.

Consideration will be given to turning District Open events into a WSF Satellite Tournament which will allow players to earn ranking points with a lower prizemoney requirement and less regulations than those of the other Regional Tour events.

Squash New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest to host any of the events listed above or to enter into discussions for hosting larger events. Priority for hosting events will be given to those with previous hosting experience. Full details on hosting these events can be provided upon request. Please also check the PSA Tour Rule Book 2017/2018 as well.

Expressions of Interest close 8th September to sam@squashnz.co.nz. Squash New Zealand would appreciate any club or organization who is interested in hosting these events to make early contact to discuss the requirements.
