Kiwis Claim Victory Over Mexico
29 Nov 2016In the first round of play in France the New Zealand Women's team have claimed a straightforward win over their Mexican counterparts not dropping a game.
Amanda Landers-Murphy was first on court against Luz Lopez. Landers-Murphy looked calm and collected in her win against Lopez rounding out her match in 3 (11-7, 11-4, 11-7) in just 19minutes.
Joelle King was up next against Diana Garcia. King never looked out of place against the WR#115 where she managed to claim her win in 3 (11-5, 11-5, 11-4) and just 15minutes on court.
Megan Craig made it a clean sweep for the kiwis taking out Nayelly Hernandez in 3 (11-7, 11-3, 11-3) spending 25minutes on court.
Glen Wilson said “Obviously a good start for us. Of course, we were the favourites but we don’t take any team lightly. Egypt next, we’ll discuss with the girls later to decide what team we put on."
