Senior Nationals draws released

The draws for the 2014 Senior National Championships to be played at North Shore Squash Club from 20-24 August have been released.

The draws can be found on North Shore Squash Club's website.

Defending champions Joelle King and Martin Knight have top billing in this year's draws.  King is expected to meet Commonwealth Games doubles partner Amanda Landers-Murphy in the semi-finals, with Megan Craig and Kylie Lindsay seeded to oppose each other on the other side of the draw.  Knight's main competition is expected to come from long-time rival Campbell Grayson (2), with up and comers Paul Coll and Kashif Shuja rounding out the top four.  Up and comer Lance Beddoes (5) will also fancy his chances after a strong twelve months. Joelle and Martin small

Following a decision made by the District Presidents at their annual meeting last year, the event is trialling a new format with the Individual Championships being played mid-week (Wednesday 20 - Friday 22 August) and the Inter District Teams Event taking place over the weekend (Saturday 23 - Sunday 24 August).

Playing times have been designed to facilitate spectatorship, with semi-finals and finals occurring after work on Thursday and Friday.  The Teams Event will be much easier to watch this year, being played over the weekend.  Entry for spectators is free.

Squash enthusiasts based outside of Auckland will still get an opportunity to follow the action, which will be streamed live from Thursday to Sunday: http://sportwebcasts.com/.
