Champions defend titles at Secondary Schools
11 Aug 2014Both of the 2013 champions have defended their titles at the National Secondary Schools Champs in Nelson this weekend.
Epsom Girl's Grammar extended their impressive run at the pinnacle of Secondary Schools squash in New Zealand by winning a fourth consecutive crown, beating Palmerston North Girls' High School 3-2 in the title decider. Whangarei Girls' High School nabbed third place by beating Te Puke 3-2. Hastings were the big improvers in the girls' competition, finishing in fifth place after being seeded seventh.
Tauranga Boys' College made it three in a row in their final against Christchurch Boys' High School, which they won 4-1. Westlake eased past Palmerston North Boys' High School 4-1 to finish third, while St Paul's Collegiate A continued their giant-killing run to end up in fourteenth position (seeded 21).
