Squash Waikato is proud and excited to announce the appointment of Glenda Knox as our new SportsForce Squash Development Officer.

Glenda joins us and brings a real passion for Squash as well as a strong history in the game.   She represented New Zealand at junior level and has been heavily involved at club level.  Glenda says she was “drawn to the wonderful Waikato in 1998 for work opportunities and completed a Bachelor of Business Management while working.  Now that my children are nearly all at school, I am delighted to be able to work with the sport that I am passionate about, encouraging as many people from various ages to give squash a go!”

The partnership with Sport Waikato via SportsForce is pivotal in achieving some of the goals to foster and grow squash in Waikato.   “My role involves working with the schools and supporting clubs, rolling out initiatives and providing resources to help your clubs increase and sustain memberships.  I will also focus on the volunteers, ensuring strong and capable delivery of squash at a community level.”

Glenda is available to all affiliated clubs and, along with Sport Waikato, will be able to provide guidance and support as required.  She will also be involved in managing and developing some of our regional events.  It is an exciting addition to our team and we are very lucky to have such a passionate ambassador in our region.  “There are so many opportunities to pursue and I am looking forward to meeting and working with some of you and your clubs, in the near future.”
