Grayson has taken out the Las Vegas Open on the PSA World Tour, beating top seed Cesar Salazar in the final.

It was a timely win for the world number 42, who was one of eight players named on Tuesday to represent New Zealand in Glasgow.

Not that the victory came easily.  Salazar pushed Grayson all the way, taking the match to a fifth game decider before the Kiwi number one finally prevailed 11-8, 6-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9.  This was after needing five sets to progress in the first round and the semi-finals - all in all a very well-earned victory.
