Megan Craig wins Fifth Career Title
19 May 2014Megan Craig has won the fifth WSA world tour title of her young career at the Northern Territory Open in Alice Springs.
The top seed was clinical in her run to the title, not dropping a set on her way to lifting the trophy. After a bye in the first round, Craig negotiated her way past Australians Eloise O'Connor, Jessica Turnbull, and Christine Nunn. In the final she accounted for Tong Tsz-Wing of Hong Kong.
Craig now moves on to the Western Australia Open in Perth next week, where she is the defending champion.
Meanwhile, up and coming Kiwis Ben Grindrod and Chris van der Salm reached the second round of the men's event, bowing out to Jaejin Yoo and Mike Corren respectively.
