Manurewa Favourites for Masters Club Teams

Manurewa are the favourites to take out this weekend's Masters Club Team Championships at Silverdale Squash Club.

The South Auckland powerhouses have named a powerful lineup including four A2 graded players which, on paper at least, should see the club win its first ever AD Long Cup.  Second seeds Brown's Bay loom as Manurewa's biggest rivals, with Red Beach and Kumeu rounding out the top four seeded teams. 

The Masters Club Team Championship title has eluded Auckland clubs since its inception in 1999.  Kawaroa Park have had the most success in the competition, capturing five titles in this period.  Double defending champions Mitchell Park also own a proud record, but will not be defending their title this year.

The event commences on Friday evening and runs through until Sunday, with social events planned throughout.  Entry for spectators is free.
