King through to quarters at World Champs
21 Mar 2014Joelle King has moved effortlessly through to the quarterfinals of the World Squash Championships in Malaysia.
The fifth seeded Kiwi proved too good for Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy in their second round clash, cruising to a comfortable 11-8, 11-4, 11-4 victory in just 36 minutes.
King will play Nour El Sherbini in the last eight, after the unseeded Egyptian upset world number four Alison Waters in four games.
Waters was the only top eight seed to fall, with world number one Nicol David the most impressive winner, barreling past Egyptian qualifier Heba El Torky 11-6, 11-3, 11-4 in just 24 minutes.
