iSquash Update

A few updates on progress with the recent upgrades and changes to the iSquash grading siSquash logoystem.

Although the core squash season is still some weeks away, many players are starting to be involved in summer interclub leagues, pre-season tournaments and business house competitions, and checking out the new features of iSquash and the Combined Grading List.

Some things you may not be aware of:

  • Women who had men's grading codes, as well as J grade players (who were always able to play against members of the opposite sex, so therefore had 'dummy' codes set up in the background of iSquash to enable this) will have results from matches played in the last 12 months against members of the opposite sex showing up in their grading history twice.  They are not double-counted, this is simply a display that shows that the previous existence of dual grading codes have been combined.
  • The grading list can now be accessed without logging in to iSquash.  This change has been made due to popular demand from players to make results easier to follow.  Players must still log in to edit their details, accept terms and conditions, enter tournaments etc.
  • As a result of the transition to the Combined Grading List, Squash NZ's ball use policy has been updated.  The only change to the policy states that where a B2 graded (or higher) player and a C1 (or lower) graded player meet in competition play (including where a man plays a woman), the player with the highest grading points shall have the choice of which ball is used.  Otherwise, where players graded B2 or above meet they will use a double yellow dot ball, with C1 and below using a single yellow dot.  Full information available here: http://www.squashnz.co.nz/play-squash/snz-recommendations.cfm
