16 Oct 2013A big win for New Zealand squash star Joelle King at the prestigious US Open Championships in Pennsylvania.
The fifth seeded Kiwi is through to the semifinals for the second year in a row, after a straight games victory over English world number four Alison Waters.
Little separated the two players in the opening game, with King edging it 12-10, but the world number five then took the control of the match to complete a comprehensive 12-10, 11-2, 11-3 victory. The win is expected to propel King above Waters to a career high number four in the world when the new WSA rankings are released at the beginning of next month.
