Final Results from Napier

Sunday marks the final day of the individual competition for the Junior National Championships at Hawkes Bay Squash Club.

The top seeds reigned supreme with six of the ten finals being won by the top seeds. However there were a few upsets, second seed Willie Donelly beat top Glen Templeton in the boys under 13s title. Another second seed Elijah Thomas came from two games down to win the boys under 11s title against top seed Leo Fatialofa. One of the biggest upsets came from third seed Ariata Kutia who beat the second seed in the semi-final before winning the girls under 11 title against top seed Ruby Sais in a convincing 3-0 victory. Quin Udy also won in a similar fashion after beating the second seed on his way to a 3-1 win over top seed Finn Trimble in the boys under 13s final.

Zac Millar and Ellie Epke have won their second under 19s titles. Zac Millar secured his seventh junior title after beating last years under 17s champion Scott Galloway, in similar fashion Ellie Epke also beat last years under 17s champion Hayley Hughes.

Squash NZ would like to congratulate all the winners and also give special congratulations to Max Trimble, Elijah Thomas, Ariata Kutia and Quin Udy for winning their first junior national championships.
