Mike Corren seemed to dominant the exchanges in the opening two games against Kevin Moran, the games were tight but Corren had the edge and went up 2/0.  Moran then came back in determined fashion to hit some nice winners in the third game, catching Corren out of position, were we perhaps in for a comeback from the Scot?

 

Corren had other ideas and really upped the tempo in the fourth, he powered away and finished off the match 11/3. 

 

Paul Coll started strongly in his match against Douglas Kempsell, tight length allowed him to control the game.   Kempsell was competing until 4/2 in the first set before appearing to twist his knee badly.  He took time to recover, and looked likely to pull out of the game.  But the determined Scot opted to continue, challenging Coll throughout the match - although it seemed the slight injury had taken the edge from his game and Coll's victory was comfortable in the end.

The final will be played at 2.30pm at the Burnside Squash Club in Christchurch.  Entry for spectators is free.
