Job Vacancy - Communication and Engagement Manager

About the Opportunity
The purpose of this new function is to lead the implementation of Squash NZ’s recently completed Communication and Engagement Plan and to create engaging informative and relevant editorial and digital media content relating to participation and events of squash throughout New Zealand.

Qualifications & experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a previous communication and engagement role
  • Experience of successfully leading the implementation of a detailed plan
  • Familiarity of all the common social media platforms
  • Good writing skills and experience in videography
  • Some experience in marketing
  • Strong relationship building skills that promote effective communication and high-level emotional intelligence towards all key stakeholders.
  • Capable to work independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to interact with a wide range of staff/stakeholders including professional staff and volunteers
  • Demonstrated a high level of integrity and self-motivation

Tasks & responsibilities

  • The purpose of this new function is to lead the implementation of Squash NZ’s recently completed Communication and Engagement Plan and to create engaging informative and relevant editorial and digital media content relating to participation and events of squash throughout New Zealand.
  • Content includes both videos and approx. 150-word stories
  • Manage Squash New Zealand digital platforms (website, Facebook, e-Newsletter and Instragram by way of improvements and direct content creation for national events)
  • Lead and/or direct content promotion of national events through social and traditional media channels
  • Provide guidance on marketing options to support Squash NZ office to ‘grow the game of Squash’
  • Oversee the consistent and accurate implantation and integration of commercial, sponsorship and partnering obligations including using branding, logos, and approving messaging
  • Support our Districts administrators to integrate relevant content as required

Reporting directly to Squash NZ’s Chief Executive the role is a one-year part time (minimum 0.5 FTE) contract role, ideally starting immediately upon confirmation. To express interest for this role at Squash NZ please email martin@squashnz.co.nz no later than 21st March 2023.
