21 Oct 2019Squash New Zealand is looking to employ a full-time Communications & Support Manager to build the profile, inclusiveness of squash to current participants and new audiences throughout the country.
About the business
Squash New Zealand is the national governing body for Squash in New Zealand. Our purpose is to make squash a healthy and enjoyable choice for a growing number of New Zealanders and to advance squash successes on the international stage.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, the Communications & Support Manager is responsible for the successful planning and creation of engaging, informative and relevant editorial and digital media content relating to all aspects of squash throughout New Zealand (participation, events and high performance). The role is Auckland based but some national travel will be required to attend key events (4-6 a year). The successful candidate will be positive, proactive and have the skills and drive to work in partnership with squash districts, clubs and the wider squash community to increase the visibility of squash in New Zealand

Ideal skills and attributes:
Experience in managing proactive and reactive multi-channel communications programmes
Sound knowledge in the use of traditional, digital and event media platforms
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
Initiative to identify and seize opportunities, select appropriate content and manage the messaging to achieve results and manage stakeholders needs
Knowledge of the game of Squash and an interest in its growth and profile
Ability to communicate effectively with squash staff, volunteers and other stakeholders in the game
