2015 NZ Junior Inter-District Champions CrownedNew Squash NZ Logo Horizontal Small

Auckland Girls and Bay of Plenty Boys have claimed their relevant titles in the final day of the 2015 NZ Junior Inter District Teams event.

The Boys draw saw the top 2 seeds Auckland and Bay of Plenty set to battle it out for the title, however the Bay of Plenty boys proved too strong for their Auckland counterparts with Jamie Oakley, Alex Revington, Tyler Ranger, Sean Dykes and Elliot Jenkins taking the title home to the Bay for the third year in a row and securing a 3/0 win. Waikato went out and secured a 3/0 win over Central looking strong in their performance and securing the bronze medal. Canterbury and Wellington had a much tighter affair on their hands with both districts winning 2 matches each it went to a countback on games but was nowhere near as exciting as their Senior Teams countback with Canterbury securing the win 9/6 on games. Southland came out firing taking the win 4/0 and missing out on the wooden spoon.

In the Girls Draw the experienced Auckland team proved too strong for their Northland counterparts winning all their matches and games in 3/0 to take the tie 4/0. The Bay of Plenty Girls couldn't make quite as convincing a win as their male counterparts with their match scores being 2/2 they snuck the win 8/6 on games. Waikato women took a 3/1 win over Eastern girls whilst the Southland girls made sure to stay strong to their seeding going down 4/0 to Central.

Auckland also take home the Gifford Cup for the best performing combined District.
