Manurewa take Masters Club Teams Champs

Manurewa have justified their top billing by taking out the Masters Club Team Championships at Silverdale.

Manurewa's ability to field (and rest) multiple A Grade players proved the difference throughout the competition.  After easing past Lugton Park in the first round, Manurewa accounted for Kumeu in the semi-finals to set up a grand final with second seeds Brown's Bay.  Earlier, Brown's Bay had won an all-North Shore semi-final by beating Red Beach.

Manurewa took out the final 3-1, with all of the team's top three securing 3/0 wins.  The dead rubber was played anyway, allowing Brown's Bay to notch a win.

It was Manurewa's first victory in the competition, meaning the AD Long Cup will reside in South Auckland for the next year.
