King Bows out of British Open
17 May 2014Disappointment for New Zealand's Joelle King at the Allam British Open Squash Championships in Hull.
The world number four has missed out on a spot in the semifinals, after losing in four games to fifth ranked Alison Waters from England.
King was on the back foot early after dropping the opening game 11-4, but got things back on track at 1-all after taking the second 11-8.
However, Waters would not be denied, punishing anything loose from her opponent in the final two games, and strolled away to an 11-4, 8-11, 11-5, 11-1 victory.
The fifth seed will now face world number one Nicol David in the last four, while England's Laura Massaro and Egyptian Raneem El Weleily, ranked two and three in the world, will square off on the other side of the draw.
