Numerous Kiwis Shine at Oceanias

Strong showings from the Kiwi contingent, with many progressing to the semi-finals of the Oceania Juniors.

Both the boys' and girls' Under 11 divisions (round-robin draws) are currently led by Kiwis; Leo Fatialofa of Henderson and Ariata Kutia of Gisborne High School Old Boys.  Mason Smales and Apa Fatialofa are sitting in fourth and fifth places respectively in the under 11 boys' division, with time to improve their standings before the tournament concludes.

In the Under 13s, Glenn Templeton and Kobe Fleming, seeded first and second respectively, are through to the semi-finals where they will come up against Australian opponents.  In the girls' round-robin draw, Kaitlyn Watts and Anika Jackson are currently unbeaten, with crunch matches coming up today.NZ team at TTJ

Matthew Lucente and Corbin Faint have put together some strong showings to make the semi-finals of the boys' Under 15 division.  Also playing well are Ben Remihana and Caleb Madden.  Rhiarne Taiapa and Nadia Hubbard have been equally impressive in their path to the semi-finals of the girls' division.

Top seeded Kiwis Abbie Palmer and Max Trimble are both through to the semi-finals of their Under 17 divisions; with Camden Te Kani-McQueen joining them.

Luke Jones of SquashGym Palmerston North is leading the way for the under 19 boys, upsetting fourth-seeded compatriot Scott Galloway to make the semis.  Scott was one of four New Zealand players to lose in the quarter-finals, so the 5-8 playoffs will be an all-Kiwi affair also including Luke Cooper, Sion Wiggin and Joseph Lyons.  Chapman Kutia, Jordan LeComte and Josh Oakley have won their first round plate matches, and are now playing off for 9-12.  Jacinta Matson is performing strongly in the under 19 girls' division, currently third in the round-robin standings after giving top seed Jessica Turnbull a fright yesterday in losing 3-1.

Good luck to all of the Kiwis involved in playoff matches; we hope to see plenty involved in finals tomorrow.
