Faults (Rules 5.7, 5.8)

The new version of the rules has defined that if a serve is not good, then it is called a fault.  That is, we no longer have a call of “foot fault”, nor do we have a call of “out” on a serve.  That is, the only call for a serve that does not meet correct requirements is called a fault.  This includes when the ball hits the side wall first or simultaneously when you try a corkscrew serve (the ball must hit the front wall first on a serve).  Not easy to get into the habit when we are all used to calling ‘out’!
