Twins Tipped as Finalists at Junior Open

All eyes will be on Rebecca and Jonny Barnett at the NZ Junior Open Squash Championships this weekend.

The Wellington twins made headlines around the world when they captured their respective titles at the championships last year, becoming the first twins to win national squash titles in the same year.

They will be looking to repeat the feat again this year, although both will have to do it as second seeds.Jonny and Rebecca with cups medium size

Rebecca, who is chasing the girls' open title for the third straight year, has once again be seeded behind Auckland's Ellie Epke, with another two Aucklanders, Abbie Palmer and Hayley Hughes rounding out the top four.

Jonny is seeded behind fellow Wellingtonian Zac Millar in the boys' open.  Millar was the beaten finalist in 2012 and will be aiming to avenge his defeat to Barnett in the title decider. Chris van der Salm (Midlands) and Ben Calvert (Waikato) round out the top four seeds.

The New Zealand Junior Open Squash Championships get underway on Friday, with the boys' open starting at 12:40pm and the girls' open at 7pm.
