King Clinches Quarterfinal Win

Another tight win for Joelle King in Kuala Lumpur, this time over Natalie Grinham.

Joelle King has notched up another thrilling victory at the KL Open Squash Championships in Malaysia.

The seventh seed has snared a spot in the semifinals of the $US70,000 WSA world tour event, after a superb five game victory over 11th seed Natalie Grinham from the Netherlands.

The two players traded blows for over an hour, with King jumping out to an early two game advantage before Grinham came storming back to level the scores at 2-all.  However, the 24-year-old Kiwi would not be denied, bouncing back to snatch a nail biting victory in five games, edging home 11-9, 11-4, 8-11, 8-11, 12-10.

The world number seven will face England's Alison Waters in the last four - a rematch of last year's Matamata Open final (pictured below).  That encounter was won by Waters in five sets.  The fifth seed earned her spot in the semis with a five game victory over Egyptian fourth seed Nour El Sherbini.2012 Matamata Open JK v Alison Waters
