Squash NZ Staff Update

Squash New Zealand is very pleased to announce the appointment of a new Events Manager Deanna Forsyth who will start on 5th November. Deanna is from a squash playing family, plays herself and importantly has a solid background in event planning and management in the sports sector, both in New Zealand and in the UK. We’re looking forward to seeing some of her exciting new ideas being implemented in the event space to enhance delivery in this area, particularly in our premier events.

The Events Manager appointment sees Daniel Grant move into the Participation Manager role to focus on growing participation in our sport. Daniel has done great work over the past 6 months as the acting Events Manager.

We have also employed a part-time dedicated Marketing & Communications Specialist, recognising the need for this resource in squash. Colleen Porath joined us at the end of July. Her background is in advertising, working as a media planner and strategist. Colleen’s main focus is to lift squash’s profile and visibility and to ensure timely and relevant communication to our squash community.

Glen Wilson is taking a step back from his involvement in Squash NZ as he focuses on other pursuits. Glen will however still be involved in coaching and mentoring for the World Doubles tournament in June next year on the Gold Coast, senior selection and coaching of some junior players. All aspects of coach development and coach course administration are now the responsibility of Daniel Grant.
