Semi Finalists of New Zealand Senior Nationals Decided

The top 4 seeds in both the Men’s and Women’s Open have proceeded through to the semi-finals of the 2017 New Zealand Senior Nationals hosted by Squash Eastern at the Havelock North and Hastings Squash Club.

Top seeds Joelle King and Paul Coll took out their eighth seeded opponents Juee Bhide and Chris Van Der Salm in comfortable 3’s to secure their semi-finals berths. Fourth seeds Kaitlyn Watts and Lance Beddoes were pushed by their fifth seeded opponents Jo Shanks and Ben Grindrod, with Watts and Beddoes claiming their wins in 4.

Third seeds Megan Craig and Evan Williams proved to be too strong for the sixth seeded players Abbie Palmer and Luke Jones with Craig and Williams taking their wins in 3. Second seed Amanda Landers-Murphy took her win from Anna Hughes the seventh seed in 3. After having taken out the seventh seed the day before Kashif Shuja was looking for another win against long time friend and opponent Campbell Grayson. Grayson the second seed proved too much for Shuja and took his spot in the semi-final in 3.
