It’s been a busy week sporting wise in New Zealand, with some great performances by the All Blacks vs The Lions and then Emirates Team New Zealand winning the America’s Cup with dominant performances.  We’re sure our NZ Squash team will also be working hard in the new few weeks to ensure great performances during the World Champs.

We love squash and so do the fans.  We want to see more, more, more!  We’ve introduced the Junior Men’s Teams International Test Series so we can see more thrilling, fast paced action by some of the world’s best.  This is an unsanctioned event providing teams of 3 players a rare opportunity for international match play.  Watch all the action live at the Mount and Te Puke Squash Clubs.

Teams:  India, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand.

Tuesday / Thursday nights at Te Puke Squash, from 5.30pm

Wednesday / Friday at Mount Squash, from 5.30pm

We’re after some host families please to billet some of our international players 25-30 July.  Can you help?  Entails hosting players in your homes and offering some good ol’ Kiwi hospitality.   Players may be required to be transported to Devoy Squash or QEYC, or you may be within walking distance of these venues. If you want to provide breakfast/dinner for the athletes then that is great, but not a requirement.

Phone Deb Boyd-Collins, Team Liaison 021-781-063.

This is a fantastic event as well as being a great profile for our Clubs and our sport.  There will be plenty of action and plenty of people, but we do acknowledge there will be some disruption for members during this time.   Court access for Club members will be limited during the Championships, particularly for Devoy Squash members. We are currently working on the court allocations and will notify the Club managers shortly of availability for members.  Otumoetai College has kindly offered their court for usage during the Championships which is greatly appreciated.  This will be made available to members to utilise.
