15 Jul 2013The girls have safely arrived in Poland after a quick five flights totalling a meagre 37 hours! The New Zealand team (pictured below, from left) is: Hayley Hughes, Ellie Epke, Rebecca Barnett, Abbie Palmer and Joanne Williams (Coach). Taking place in Wroclaw, Poland at the Hasta La Vista club there are two events which the team will be competing in, the World Individual Under-19 title (16-21 July), followed by the Women’s World Junior Team Championship (22-27 July).
Arriving a few days ago the girls have managed to put in some training on the courts they'll be competing on and also managed to visit and experience some of what Poland has to offer. The first round of the individuals starts on monday with Hayley Hughes v Sachika Ingale (IND), Abbie Palmer v Dileas MacGowan (CAN), Rebecca Barnett v Natalia Ryfa (POL) and Eleanor Epke with a bye.
