Squash a Finalist in Sport NZ Awards

Squash NZ has been named as a finalist in the annual Sport and Recreation Sector Awards for Innovation Excellence.

The purpose of the Innovation Award is to identify, celebrate, promote, and encourage innovation in the sport and recreation sector.  The eventual winner of the Innovation Award will be recognised for their outstanding innovation based on:

  • Innovation design and delivery – the ‘X’ factor,Sport & Rec Awards
  • Stakeholder relationships,
  • Quality management practices (financial, risk, and people),
  • Key results against planning and objectives,
  • Barriers faced and overcome.

Squash New Zealand was nominated for the award thanks to its work developing iSquash as a comprehensive online platform to administer squash, manage membership, open the doors, reduce barriers to participation, and (hopefully) grow the game.  It is the second consecutive year Squash NZ has been nominated for the award.  For the full list of awards and nominees, see the Awards' webpage: http://www.sportrecawards.org.nz/.

Squash New Zealand is vying with Harbour Sport and Bike NZ to be named the overall winner - which will be announced on April 15.  Whether or not Squash NZ takes out the overall award, it is rewarding and pleasing that the work tackled to date in the ongoing development of iSquash has been recognised by the panel of judges.

The whole project was developed to make life easier for clubs and players, so thanks must also go to the clubs who have whole-heartedly embraced the tools and services iSquash has to offer - particularly early adopters of the Pay2Play module.
