Annual Bragging Rights go to Bay of Plenty

Bay of Plenty has snared the bragging rights in the annual battle to decide the top squash district at grass roots level.

Four of the 10 titles on offer at the Superchamps finals around the country have been won by clubs from Bay of Plenty, including both of the B grade events in Christchurch.

Te Puke claimed the B grade ladies title with a 3-2 win over Te Awamutu in the best of five match final, while the men's title was won by the Devoy Squash & Fitness Centre, after a 3-0 victory against Cambridge.

It was one of two titles picked up the Devoy Squash and Fitness Centre, which also won the F grade ladies title, while Putaruru took out the F grade men's.

SquashGym Palmerston North also claimed two titles, winning the C grade and E grade men's events, while Wanganui triumphed in the D grade men's to make it three titles for the Central district.

The other three titles were shared by Auckland, Northland and Eastern.  Herne Bay was victorious in the C grade ladies event, Kamo scooped the D grade ladies and Hawke's Bay landed the E grade ladies.
