Clyne cuts Knight's campaign short in Canberra

Scotsman Alan Clyne has kncoked Martin Knight out of the Australian Open

New Zealand's Martin Knight is out of title contention at the Australian Squash Open in Canberra.

The unseeded Kiwi has given seventh seeded Scotsman Alan Clyne a good run for his money in the second round, but after a war of attrition was ultimately beaten in four games.  Clyne and Knight were evenly-matched throughout and the New Zealander had three game points to make it two games apiece. But Clyne battled back to save all three then take the match 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 13-11 in 83 minutes.

That leaves Joelle King as the only remaining Kiwi in title contention in Canberra.  The world number 13 lines up against 10th ranked Australian Kasey Brown in the women's second round at 6:30pm NZT.
