Squash New Zealand is also pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Johnston as the manager for the team. Johnston said “For me, the idea of a biannual Trans-Tasman Masters Test series has been a fantastic idea and has proved very popular and successful and I'm really looking forward to our trip to Ballarat for this Test Series plus the Australian Masters Tournament. In Napier two years ago, the games were close and the players left absolutely nothing on the court - it was a great watch although, unfortunately, we lost the third and deciding test on a countback.

My focus will be on making sure that we create an environment where all our players are comfortable and can concentrate on playing to their full potential.

The team can then be in a position to win the Test Series (and maybe a few Australian titles as well) - not easy, but achievable!”.

We wish the team well and look forward to following their results throughout the event.
