The finalists of the 2017 North Island Age Groups have been decided with the majority of top seeds making their way through to the finals.
The Under 11 Boys will see a rematch of last weekend’s South Island Age Groups title with top seed Reece Holmes taking on second seed Oliver Dunbar. In the Girls Under 11 top seed Maia Smales will take on second seed Hayley Rhodes to determine the winner.
The Under 13 Boys sees top seed Apa Fatialofa make his way to the final whilst it was Northland’s Freddie Jameson the third seed who managed to take out the second seed Noah Thomas and secure his spot in the final. The Under 13 Girls sees the last round of pool play with both the top seeds Sophie Hodges and Ella Lash undefeated to date.
The Under 15 Boys see top seed Leo Fatialofa seeking another title as he takes on the second seed Elijah Thomas who will be coming off a high after winning the Under 15 South Island Age Group title the previous weekend. It is a similar affair in the Girls Under 15 with top seed Natalie Sayes seeking to take out second seed Jena Gregory and claim her second Under 15’s title in 2 weeks.
The Under 17 Boys see Gabe Yam the top seed taking on second seed Temwa Chileshe to determine the champion. The Under 17 Girls sees Winona-Jo Joyce the top seed take on second seed Annmarie Holst of Northland with Holst looking to use her home court knowledge to her advantage.
The Under 19 Boys sees top seed Matthew Lucente and Finn Trimble the second seed looking to claim the title before heading into the World Junior Championships next week. The Under 19 Girls sees the last round of pool play with Northland’s Zoe Dykzeul claiming a win over second seed Emma Cormack last night making it anyone’s game.
