Coll Goes Out in Canary Wharf Semi-Final

The World Number 4 Nick Matthew has taken a win in three over World Number 16 Paul Coll in the semi-final of the Canary Wharf Classic 2017.

The first game saw Matthew take a good lead over Coll but Coll was able to get in front and work Matthew with some great shot choices to draw the game back. Matthews experience and shot choice shone through as Coll was not quite able to edge Matthew and Matthew took the first game 11-9.

Coll came out and played some exceptional short shots and took the lead early in the second, but Matthew fought back and worked well to take the lead and claim the second game 11-8.

Matthew proved to be too good for Coll in the third with some great shot choices and Coll was just not able to match the length and accuracy of Matthew with Matthew claiming the game 11-5.

Coll will compete in the Allam British Open from the 21-26 March where he will play wildcard Declan James in the first round.
